PROGRAM: All adults are invited to attend an evening of good food, fellowship, and an inspiring lesson on living the Catholic faith. Social and dinner, catered by Bennifer’s, begin at 6:30 PM, followed by Jake Samour’s talk at 7:00 PM.
LESSON: What does it really mean for a family to become a “domestic church”? Drawing upon the Church’s vision for marriage and family life, Jake Samour will explore the unique vocation of husband and wife, and the mission entrusted to them as parents. The family is called to become a community of life and love, a domestic church where faith, patience, forgiveness, respect, and service take root. A place where family members accompany and support one another as they discover the abundant life Christ desires for them.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Jake Samour serves as Director of Marriage and Family Life for the Diocese of Wichita. Originally from El Salvador, he is the oldest of twelve children. He and his wife, Ramie, have been married for 21 years and have six children. Together they strive to live family life intentionally—with prayer, adventure, games, laughter, and a willingness to do the hard things with joy. Jake’s ministry flows from his conviction that marriage and family life can become a privileged place of encounter with Christ and a school of discipleship for the whole family.
